GLOSSARY OF TERMS
Core - the central, innermost, or most essential part of anything.
Core Values - values that are most meaningful, residing at the core of being.
Ecosystem - your spheres of influence (who influences and who you influence). A community or group of people that live in and interact with each other in a specific environment, unified through common values and/or purpose.
Emotional Intelligence (EQ) - the ability to perceive, use, understand, manage, and handle emotions.
Financial Alignment - the state of being in which your financial behavior is lined up with your values abd beliefs.
Financial Intelligence (FQ) - The ability to make smart, responsible, value-based decisions with and about money in the face of competing and difficult to deal with emotions.
Fixed Mindset - While the growth mindset believes in the development of our intelligence and talents, the fixed mindset is a belief that these same characteristics are fixed at birth or become locked-in by a certain age. In other words, believing that some people are just inherently more talented or intelligent than others and that's just the way it is.
Growth Mindset - a belief that your basic qualities, including intelligence and talent, can be cultivated through effort (i.e. hard work, good strategies, and input from others). In other words, believing that you can change your thoughts and behaviors.
Legacy - something that is passed down from generation to generation. It can be money, land, material possessions, traditions, and ideas.
Legacy Building Blocks - the steps that are implemented in the legacy planning process.
Legacy Pillars - the four core areas of our legacy planning process - Finance, Family, Fitness and Faith.
Legacy Pregaming - the routine one develops, to actively create a mindset and environment towards legacy building, prior to implementation.
Pregaming - the routines utilized by top athletes that help reduce distractions, minimize anxiety and allow them to slowly narrow their focus.
Purpose - The reason for which something is done, or created, or for which something exists.
Values - the qualities that, deep within, are most meaningful. Values are guides to human behavior.
